Kaleidoscope
Prada & Versace

In occasion of EXPO Milano, Versace and Prada partnered with the Municipality of Milan to restore the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. To celebrate the completion of the renovation, we designed Kaleidoscope: a mirror installation transforming the iconic octagonal atrium into an immersive visual experience.
Overview
At the center of the Galleria’s octagonal atrium, the Kaleidoscope installation reinterprets the architecture of the space through a structure of mirrored surfaces over three meters high. The reflective octagon multiplies perspectives and light, creating a constantly shifting visual environment where visitors become part of the installation itself. Inside the mirrored structure, video projections and images recount the story of the Gallery and its recent restoration, transforming the installation into both a visual experience and a narrative of the building’s renewal. Four additional observation points equipped with binoculars invite the public to look upward and closely observe the restored decorative details of the upper levels, encouraging a deeper engagement with the architecture and the renewed beauty of one of Milan’s most iconic landmarks.
